NAB, Las Vegas, 29th March 2018

Open Broadcast Systems will be launching new technology for ultra low-latency encoding and decoding at NAB. The technology also marks the company’s foray into the provision of a complete solution, including software and a custom built hardware platform, based around IT hardware.

The technology achieves the latency of legacy hardware video transport platforms using a software-based solution. It can be used in low-latency workflows such as Studio IP video and remote production environments, whilst having the ability to be reconfigured for other purposes, including offline file workflows and other IT business processes.

Kieran Kunhya, Founder and Managing Director, Open Broadcast Systems, commented: “NAB 2018 will demonstrate the most complex investment in hardware and software the company has ever made. We aim to continue drive the industry forward in delivering high-performance, low-latency broadcast solutions based around IT hardware”

The company’s range of C-100 Encoders will also be part of the uncompressed IP demonstration on the Arista Networks stand (#SL12105). Open Broadcast Systems’ uncompressed IP encoders and decoders have been deployed in numerous ground-breaking facilities globally as pure COTS solutions.

The ultra low-latency encoding and decoding technology will be demonstrated on the Open Broadcast Systems’ Stand (#SL5624) at NAB from 9th – 12th April 2018.
